On October 30, 2007 the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) led
by Craig Donohue, CEO of the CME Group, Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Directors
of the NCEE, brought together over 300 leaders in business, media, public service,
and education to honor John Bogle, founder of the Vanguard Group, and Bill Donaldson,
27th Chairman of the Securities Exchange Commission, at the 2007 NCEE Visionary
Awards Dinner in New York City. Sharon Epperson, CNBC Business News Correspondent,
served as the Mistress of Ceremonies.
"Throughout history there have been those special individuals who brought
just the right vision and focus at a key moment that helped us become economically
stronger as a nation and as individuals," said NCEE's President & CEO,
Bob Duvall. "By saluting John Bogle and Bill Donaldson we put a well-deserved
spotlight on outstanding individuals who used their knowledge of economics
and finance to make a difference for others."

NCEE Chairman Craig Donohue reiterated that John Bogle and Bill Donaldson
demonstrate, in powerful ways, why economics matters. Their achievements and
successes make a powerful and persuasive case that investing in human capital,
through opportunity and education, is key to self-esteem and quality of life.
The NCEE designed the Visionary Awards Dinner to honor champions of economic
empowerment in all of its many forms - from those who have raised awareness
about the need for economic and financial literacy, to those who, having succeeded
in their chosen field by using sound economic decision-making, and have turned
that success into good public works.
And don't forget to SAVE THE DATE for next year's Visionary Awards event to
be held on Thursday, October 30th, 2008.
